On 2011-09-20, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall regarding Wood Twin Bunk Beds and Loft Bunk Beds due to a potential fall hazard. This product sold new beginning in October 2010 for about $600 to $1000.

This is the 3rd recall of Twin, Full & Bunk Beds in 2011. Since 2005, there have been approximately 10 similar recalls, involving about 500,000 product units. Click here to see images of other recently recalled Twin, Full & Bunk Beds.

What is the problem?

The guard rails on upper bunks can crack and cause the mattress and its support rails to collapse, posing a fall hazard.

How can I tell if I own this product?

This recall involves upper guardrails on twin-over-twin bunk beds and twin-over -double bed loft designs. The beds have a permanent label attached to the headboard or the footboard with the American Woodcrafters logo; SKU numbers, 1800-977 or 1800-969; PO Numbers: 103276, 103432, or 300038; and the manufacturing date.

These items were sold new⁺ at Furniture dealers nationwide from October 2010 to June 2011 for between $600 and $1,000.
